Pyoderma Gangrenosum
A Case Study
Not much information exists on pyoderma gangrenosum and this site was created with the hope it may help others. It follows an individual who was diagnosed with bullous pyoderma gangrenosum in late November 2012 and tells her story with both images and words.
I have no medical background. What is presented on this site is a combination of information gathered from many doctor visits and Web research.
The content of this site is meant solely for educational and informational purposes and should not be considered as medical advice. If you suspect you are ill please consult a physician.
Graphic Content
This site contains images of the ulcers, or open wounds, caused by pyoderma gangrenosum. There are two ulcers on the lower left leg, one on the left foot and two on the lower right leg. These wounds could be considered by some to be, for lack of a better term, rather gross looking.
History
The subject is in her late fifties and prior to the pyoderma gangrenosum was in good health. It is believed that a trauma occurring to the left foot while leaping down a 12 inch step set the pyoderma gangrenosum in motion. There had also been a family situation over the last two years that caused above average stress during that period.
Site Organization
The site content is organized in two different ways, chronologically and by location. When the images are presented by location it is easier to follow the progression of a particular ulcer.
